This weekend’s event allows players to experience different metagame and take a break from the usual Standard decks that are prevalent right now, especially since there is a potential banning coming up, which will result in the shakeup of the format. This is a good opportunity to test some decks using only cards from Throne of Eldraine – read on to find out what the best decks are and earn rewards for this event.

Event Rewards
What is Eldraine Constructed?
Eldraine Constructed is an opportunity to play in a different metagame (and potentially fun), where decks are only allowed to use cards from Throne of Eldraine. Currently the metagame is awaiting for the conclusion of Mythic Championship V and the big news of a potential card banning (or bannings) and there is not too much room for further innovation.
This event is also classified as a Specialty Event, which is a decent way to grind for Individual Card Rewards (ICRs) and boost your collection. At 4 wins or more, you have a 100% chance of getting a rare card. We would classify this as a low risk, low reward event and your time would be the most valuable resource here.
Moving forward, there will be another event that allows only use of Eldraine and Theros: Beyond Death cards (probably called Theros Constructed?) so we can improve our decks here with a new set!
Building Your Eldraine Constructed Deck
We will be frank here – as is the nature of the event being able to use only one set, the more rares and mythic rares you use, the better your deck will be. Basically any two color combination will likely work quite well with little regard to synergy, and may resemble limited archetypes. Still, consider the following factors before delving into this format.
Food
Oko, Thief of Crowns is a card making a huge impact on Standard that can do everything on its own for just three mana (and is a possible ban target). Food is also one of the mechanics in Throne of Eldraine that is used primarily used by green and given a little support from black, and Simic Food deck that features Oko is one of the top Standard deck at the moment. It will be interesting to see whether using just Eldraine cards we can see enough support.
Adventure
Edgewall Innkeeper is another card making a wave in Standard. For just one mana investment, you can draw multiple cards and gain an enormous amount of value from your Adventure cards. This will be especially true in a format with minimum removal spells – there are no Shock and Legion’s End to deal with this pesky creature in an efficient manner. Golgari and Selesnya Adventures have seen the most support in current Standard, and is a great starting point for this Eldraine-only format.
Lands
In Eldraine Constructed, we don’t have any land mana fixing other than Fabled Passage. That means two color decks are probably the best we can get, and even then, it will be a bit sketchy in terms of consistency.
Knights
The Knight tribal is also another synergy that is worth mentioning, since aggro decks will be pretty good for best-of-one format as well. White, black and red all gets excellent Knight-related cards to play around with.
Wildcards
An important point to note is that there is a high concentration of rares and mythic rares in Throne of Eldraine that are high in power level and is currently being played in normal Standard, as well as having the potential to be played as the metagame changes. Arguably, Throne of Eldraine has introduced a lot of cards that are so ubiquitous that they can be included in any decks that can use its color. They each have their respective pushed cards, and players will have to be diligent in crafting additional cards going forward. We also have our Wildcard Crafting Guide for Throne of Eldraine, so please check it out if you want more detailed information on this topic.
Continuing on with green as an example, you have the following rares and mythic rares all playable in their own right – which can make a lot of decks considerably costly and a lot of commitment.
- Wicked Wolf
- Gilded Goose
- Wildborn Preserver
- Questing Beast
- Lovestruck Beast
- Once Upon a Time
- Castle Garenbrig
- The Great Henge
Our Top Eldraine Constructed Decklists
Below we have prepared some decklists you can play (and modify if necessary) for this event. We recommend you start with the color(s) you have the most cards for first, and then consider the mono colored decks if you want to change things up. Definitely substitute cards where you can rather than trying to craft them of course, unless you think you will still need it outside of this event.
This deck pretty much builds itself.
An aggressive artifact synergy deck. All That Glitters is the MVP card.
Based on a Standard PTQ deck which also makes use of the graveyard mechanic.
Questing Beast and Embercleave is a very powerful combination. Grumgully is also a great card in this deck.
This is a tempo deck that relies on the power of Irencrag Pyromancer and Improbable Alliance and other draw cards.
You can finally make use of your spare The Circle of Loyalty!
Another hybrid Knights and aggro deck.
Primarily a mono green deck with a light splash for Oko and Savvy Hunter. Deathless Knight and The Great Henge also work great together.
This is a hybrid build of Knights and Adventures based off crokeyz's build, and is more aggro slanted.
This deck utilizes the powerful Cauldron Familiar and Witch's Oven combo to pluck away at your opponent's life total.
There are enough big green creatures in Throne of Eldraine to curve into, supported by Questing Beast and The Great Henge.
Mono Red in Throne of Eldraine emphasizes the power of Embercleave and Torbran.
