The final few days of the August 2020 ranked season is already upon us as we get ready for the release of Zendikar Rising and Standard rotation next month. As another reminder, August will be the last chance for the top 1200 Mythic players to participate in the Mythic Qualifier weekend with the format being Historic. We will explore how Standard and Historic have evolved over the past week and the stand out decks used to reach Mythic. Check out the previous week’s editions for more decks and ideas:

MTG Arena Standard Mythic Decks of the Week
With only a few weeks left until Standard rotation and no big tournaments on the horizon, the format remains stable similar to last week. The most recent Red Bull Qualifier gives a decent insight into the tournament metagame for the top decks, so be sure to check out the tournament report if you have not already. At this point of the ladder cycle, almost anything goes as players find the decks they enjoy playing as we prepare for a fresh metagame. Standard 2021 is also available as a ranked queue, if you prefer the more limited card pool.
MTG Arena Historic Mythic Decks of the Week
Field of the Dead has been banned from Historic for a few days now, though the ramp strategies involving Explore, Growth Spiral and Uro could still be the best deck in the format. The question is what is the best third color – Bant, Sultai or Temur? The metagame still remains wide open, as we close into the bigger tournaments in a few weeks time and straight after that we start all over again when Zendikar Rising releases. For now, enjoy the diversity on the ladder!
This column is our weekly roundup of Standard and Historic decks players are using to climb the ranked ladder on MTG Arena! Our goal is to curate and post a variety of deck archetypes and interesting card choices at the end of each week to help you keep up to date with the latest trends in the metagame. If you have any decks you want featured, please use the deck submission form, tweet us at @mtgazone, or give us a shout on our Discord.
