MTG Arena’s latest update for Phyrexia: All Will Be One brings a tonne of improvements and fixes outside of the new cards! Check out the full patch notes below, and the full card list can be found in our set guide:
Phyrexia: All Will Be One released – New packs, draft & sealed modes, Mastery Pass, avatars, and more
Golden Packs are now updated to include cards from Phyrexia: All Will Be One and the meter is progressed by buying those packs
The Play Blade and Events menu will now highlight new events, and you can place multiple Mastery Orbs at once
Notable Bug Fixes
Fixed a bug on mobile that prevented playing background audio while playing MTG Arena
Fixed a bug that prevented players from being able to place unspent mastery orbs after the pass ended
Fixed a bug related to not being able to save a Brawl deck with the Wastes land, Wastes being legal in Standard, Alchemy, and Standard Brawl, and issues with Wastes and Suggest Lands
Play Blade tabs now have new item alerts, event tiles now have “New” banners, and event filters now have attract flares to indicate new Events
You can now place multiple orbs at a time in the Set Mastery screen. Save them up and spend away all in ONE Phyrexian swoop.
Alchemy sets now appear in the Set Collection
Improvements in general to the logic for how mana symbols appear on deck boxes that should make it more consistent with the colors used in your deck. (Better handling for handling hybrid cards in mono-color decks, tri-lands in two-color decks, etc.)
Upgrading your mono color precon decks is no longer tied to the color challenge.
Starter decks no longer have a confusing warning (yellow exclamation point) about editing them before you use them in a game.
Improved the visibility on the Inbox icon when there are new messages.
Standard Brawl is now properly referred to as ‘Standard Brawl’ instead of ‘Brawl’ in-client
Sparky can now teach you about Explorer!
Gameplay
There’s a new UI for when you have to discard a lot of cards and it would be easier to just pick the cards you’re keeping. It has you just pick the cards you’re keeping.
Cards with toxic abilities add up all the Toxic counts to one value. I know this isn’t “new” because this is the first set with Toxic, but it was cool, so it’s in the patch notes. Hi.
Previously, if you were making some manual calls on how to pay something complicated (like say you had pain lands and treasure) after sacrificing one treasure Autotap would get excited and finish, and maybe not in the manner you’d planned on. Autotap now has chill in this scenario.
Phyrexian language basic lands no longer automatically update when moused over, because of how you can look at them and see the mana symbol. Right clicking still lets you see localized text. In case you forgot what a Forest does, I guess.
Card styles that originally had specific, non-localized text (Japanese Mystical Archive, Phyrexian) now show the original language when Show Printed Card is checked.
Fixed a bug in mouseover presentation where cards could be clipped off the edge of the screen
Fixed a bug that caused the Deckbuilder to display color pips on colorless decks incorrectly
Phyrexian Mana and Compleated hangers were showing the wrong mana symbols sometimes. Now they show the right mana symbols all the time, which seems like an improvement on every axis.
Fixed multiple broken web links
Fixed a bug where gems would not display in place of a card a user already owned 4 copies of after opening a pack
Gameplay
Identified and corrected some edge cases where the loop detector was a little overzealous and called something a loop that you could have gotten out of.
Yotian Courier wasn’t getting its exhausted ability back if you skipped a combat step.
When flickering Thought-Knot seer, the auto-ordering of abilities was crummy. It is now not crummy.
Melding Mishra with a Containment Priest on the battlefield was causing a draw. It doesn’t now.
If you were doing some degenerate stuff where a single permanent had two instances of the same “activate only once” ability so you could sneak an extra activation, that will no longer work
If you have a creature that has gained the ability to produce the same mana, but with two different sets of restrictions (say “This mana can’t be spent on non-artifact spells” and “Never don’t spend this mana on un-spells that aren’t Blue”) you were not able to choose which restricted mana to produce. Now you can!
Draconic Destiny was sometimes winding up in the wrong player’s hand, which is wrong and should not have happened. Worse still, sometimes people would do things with it that would cause the match to complete in a draw. Neither of those happens now.
In certain cases creatures cast as Prototypes were displaying their VFX in browsers. While this looked sick, it was not intended, and has been fixed.
Did you know you can attack with a whole stack of creatures by clicking on the count? Based on the incredibly small number of reports we got when this stopped working if your opponent had a Planeswalker out, the answer is no, you did not know that. Well, you can, and now it works in all scenarios.
Targeting a creature MDFC with a land on the back with Reezug was allowing players to cast the land. Which you can’t do, obviously. You can’t cast land. You can cast an elf, or a dinosaur, or a mech, but you cannot cast a land.
