Season of Growth Standard – Wilds of Eldraine Festival Event Guide and Best Decklists
This guide will contain everything you need to know about the Wilds of Eldraine Festival - Season of Growth Standard event, including the details, banned card list, rewards, and our exclusive sample decklists.
Hey everyone! We just finished up the so bad that it was good Dark Tutelage Festival. It was such a train wreck that it reminded me of watching old Troma movies. The next stop on the Festival train is Season of Growth Standard. That is exactly what it sounds like with Standard decks but everyone starts with a Season of Growth Emblem. Well at least I assume that is what it means, I’m just as in the dark as you are about that ATM.
As of writing this, the only actual information we have is that the previous event ends on the 1st of October and the new one starts then. That one allegedly was lasting for three days while this one lasts for six. Looking on Arena, it says that the previous one doesn’t end until the 2nd so I’m guessing that is when this one actually starts. I’m sure that all makes just as much sense to you as it does to me. Just to be safe, I’m posting this to be available for their listed start time.
The article will be updated as soon as we know what the rewards are, but I’m assuming that it will also be five exclusive card styles.
Of course, you can just play normal Standard decks that happen to get a bunch of Scrys thrown in. This Emblem doesn’t punish you for that nearly as much as the Dark Tutelage event did. If you already have those decks, feel free to jam them to save yourself some wild cards. I‘m not going to repost those decks in the article but you can find plenty of them at our deck database. Instead, I am going to focus on ways to take advantage of the Emblem as well as throwing in a budget deck for those of you not looking to go too deep into your stash for this event.
The drawing a card when you target your own creature can be a big deal, but it’s not something that you’re going to want to go nuts with. Getting stuck with a bunch of pump spells without anything to cast them on is no bueno. I’m mostly looking at one mana cost cards that are much better when they cantrip.
One card that appears to be a huge standout is Ancestral Anger. One mana to draw two cards with some extra damage thrown in is busted. So, we’re definitely going to be throwing that into any deck that has access to red mana.
Homestead Courage is another good one here with Flashback netting you two cards out of it. Audacity giving the card up front is a huge deal. Giant Growth and Monstrous Rage are other ways to beatdown while keeping the gas flowing. Tyvar's Stand or the other Hexproof spells can turn into a major blowout with the extra card draw. Fight and bite spells take a step up when you draw a card as well.
Yeah, yeah, I’m almost to the decklists… Just some event info and then you can click your buttons.

I’m sure you have some questions about what is going on here. It’s kind of an all-in deck, but you do have 4x Tyvar's Stand (which now draws a card) to protect your creature wearing big boi pants (Blanchwood Armor which yet again now draws a card). You have plenty of tramplers to suit up and get the job done.
You get the full complement of Ancestral Anger and Monstrous Rage here to draw some extra cards while beating down. The usual stuff about lighting up the face should get it done here.
This one was a bit of an experiment. I still wanted to play the key cheap cantrips, but with some slightly bigger creatures. Man, this deck would love to have Llanowar Elves.
