Rise of the Five Families Festival Event Guide and Schedule
This guide will contain everything you need to know about the Rise of the Five Families Festival series of events, including rewards and our exclusive sample decklists.
MTG Arena will be hosting a special series of events called the Rise of the Five Families from May 12 to May 27, the festival equivalent for the Streets of New Capenna expansion. The format for the five events is Alchemy Singleton, but with a special themed Emblem for each family’s mechanic (Maestros, Obscura, Cabaretti, Riveteers, and the Brokers). The final bonus event is called Turf Brawls, running from May 27 to June 2.
This is your opportunity to obtain different art-deco inspired Golden Age Showcase Card Styles for their respective families! This guide will contain everything you need to know about this event including the schedule, rewards and our exclusive sample decklists.
Overview
We all know the ruling families of New Capenna: the Maestros, the Obscura, the Cabaretti, the Riveteers, and the Brokers. But how did they come to power? In these five festivals, leverage the strengths of each family to earn golden age showcase card styles relating to their ascension.
From May 12 to May 27, 2022, there will be a total of five Rise of the Five Families Festival events every three days. Each event costs 2,500 Gold or 500 Gems to enter, and you can play each one as much as you like for the duration.
The format for the five Rise of the Five Families event is best-of-one Alchemy Singleton, where players can build a 60-card deck consisting of only one copy of any card (except Basic Lands) from the Alchemy card pool. That is, all cards in Standard in their rebalanced versions, plus the bonus Alchemy: Innistrad and Kamigawa cards.
The first five wins for each event allows you to win the Streets of New Capenna Golden Age Showcase Card Styles for their respective families, detailed below and in each event guide.
To tie all these events together at the end, from May 27 to June 2 there will be a week-long event called Turf Brawls that allows you to win the 10 Skycraper Showcase Card Styles for the lands. The format is Brawl with preconstructed decks – one for each family.
