Top Mythic Decks – May 2022 Ranked Season – Week 4
MTG Arena is at the end of its May 2022 Ranked Season, and the competitive players have been busy either playing constructed events for the Play-In event points, or vying for the top #250 on the Mythic ladder. This month’s card style rewards for reaching Gold and Platinum are Sleep with the Fishes and Hostile Takeover, respectively.
It’s been a full month since the release of Streets of New Capenna, and players are just starting to experience a stable metagame on all fronts, after the conclusion of the New Capenna Set Championship. The tournament has given us some highly refined decks to play with, and the new Explorer format is ripe for further brewing after the banning of Winota, Joiner of Forces.
The next set MTG Arena has in line is Alchemy Horizons: New Capenna and Baldur’s Gate, before the next Standard expansion and rotation with Dominaria United in September. The digital version of Standard has not seen much love from the community – it will interesting to see if the proposed increased number of uncommons and draft mode can boost its popularity.
Without further ado, let’s take a look at some spicy Mythic decks that were shared by the community this month! As always, you can share your deck using our deck builder, Tweet us at @mtgazone or give us a shout on our Discord! You can find the complete list of all the Mythic decks for this month at the bottom.

Standard Mono White Magecraft by trail – #1305 Mythic

Creatures (23)
Lands (20)
60 Cards
$33.96
Sideboard
12 Cards
$5.78
Mono White Aggro in Standard has been a known factor for a while now, but here’s a different take on a Mono White deck that is also relatively light on the wallet! Illuminator Virtuoso from Streets of New Capenna has given tempo decks a nice boost to various archetypes as a must-answer threat.
On a similar note, Ledger Shredder has also been a nice addition if you wanted to add another color to the mix. It really has made a huge impact on multiple formats, clearly showing its power. Check out our early article on the subject below:
Bo1 Explorer Azorius Flash by KillaDub – #773 Mythic

Creatures (4)
Instants (32)
Lands (24)
60 Cards
$223.94
KillaDub’s Flash decks are our personal favorite, and this Azorius version is just as good as the Simic version, if not better! Torrential Gearhulk + Magma Opus is always a great combo to pull off, and Settle the Wreckage is great especially against the Greasefang decks.
Standard Jund Reanimator by Shlop – #404 Mythic

Creatures (13)
Instants (9)
Lands (25)
60 Cards
$502.96
Sideboard
15 Cards
$101.91
Titan of Industry has seen a lot of play despite being a hard to cast 7 drop! One way of making use of it is reanimating it from the graveyard, which the resident Izzet Fable expert Shlop has done here. They also proved the deck’s strength in a 7-0 run at the Standard Metagame Challenge!
If you’re looking for another Titan of Industry deck, we recently covered the Temur Control deck piloted by the Japanese team at the New Capenna Championship:
Explorer Orzhov Vampires by Takobyte – #188 Mythic

Creatures (23)
Lands (23)
60 Cards
$413.26
Sideboard
15 Cards
$71.51
Grixis Vampires is suddenly a player in the Standard metagame thanks to the innovation of the pro players, but other than Evelyn, the Covetous – it’s not a true tribal deck!
Vampires has been pushed out of Historic for a long time since its heyday in Standard, but in Explorer it is still a decent pick thanks to Sorin, Imperious Bloodlord. Players have tried to cheat out Lord Xander, the Collector, but it turns out that it’s not worth having a 7 mana card stuck in your hand.
If you’re looking for a Vampire deck in Explorer, try this build by Takobyte!
Alchemy Bant Party by Goldenjaguar – #1 Mythic

Creatures (28)
Enchantments (2)
Lands (22)
60 Cards
$129.8
Sideboard
15 Cards
$8.43
If you’re looking for a potential Alchemy deck to play with the new sets in the horizon, Bant Party is always a fun pick! Goldenjaguar shared this deck with us, reaching #1 Mythic in the mid-season!
A rebalancing of A-Base Camp and addition of Mage's Attendant may have pushed it over the top.
Baldur’s Gate looks to add a whole bunch of cards relevant to the Party creature types, so we can hope that Wizards will add some of the cool ones from the set to MTG Arena!
