Alchemy Singleton – Midweek Magic Event Guide and Best Decklists
This guide will contain everything you need to know about the Midweek Magic: Alchemy Singleton All Access event, including rewards and our exclusive sample decklists.
Hey everyone! It’s another week and that means we have another Midweek Magic to run. This week it is Singleton which means only one copy of each card allowed, and it’s All Access so you can use cards not in your collection! It includes all of the Standard sets and the associated Alchemy sets. I could keep talking, but let’s be honest here, a bunch of you just want to get some decklists and get out of here.
It’s extremely difficult to discuss these decks outside of the basic plans since there are so many different cards in them, but I’ll give it a whirl. Most of the decks I’ll be presenting today will be aggressive leaning since it is a lot easier to build a consistent Singleton deck with that because there are no wrong threats, only wrong answers.
While it might sound difficult to build focused decks in Singleton, there is enough redundancy over sets that you can have wish.com versions of decks. The plan is usually to just pick a theme, put all the good cards in a pile and start cutting from there.
As of publishing, we believe that it is All Access because of the event description. Since it isn’t officially in their title, I am adding a budget deck just in case.

Mono Red Aggro
First off, good ol reliable mono red. Same story that it has been running since the original days of Sligh (Literally the Ice Age here) where you play a bunch of small, angry little creatures on curve. Of course, you can’t forget about all the burn to clear the way or be pointed directly at the opponent’s face.
Almost everything here is ready to rumble with very few value cards because you don’t want the game to get to the point where that really matters. There are a few like Fable of the Mirror-Breaker, but did you really expect that card to ever be left out.
This is a midrange beats deck that plans to go a little over the top of the aggro decks. It comes with massive creatures along with some cheap burn to keep you alive until you get there.
There are some really fun cards in here including my wife’s favorite, Minsc & Boo, Timeless Heroes. If you just want to turn monsters sideways, then this is the deck for you.
The plan is to rush your opponent with a pile of creatures backed up by Glorious Anthem effects. Those anthem slots are replacing some of the interaction, but you do still have a few to make sure you can punch your team through a particularly troubling blocker.
Some of the one drops are just Savannah Lions so don’t spend too much time trying to figure out how their abilities interact with the other cards in the deck.
Embrace your dark side with a whole bunch of cards that are really annoying to aggro decks. They will be thrilled when you progress from Shambling Ghast to Sheoldred the Apocalypse. If they are still hanging around, a good ol Invoke Despair will get the job done.
It also gives you the opportunity to drop a Phyrexian Obliterator and laugh when your opponent swings into it. I had an opponent fail to read it and sacrifice their entire side yesterday.
Do you enjoy being in control? Then this is the deck for you. A veritable smorgasbord of counters, removal, wraths, and powerful planewalkers. What’s not to love about that?
This is a great alternative for those who don’t want to spend their event playing aggro mirror matches.
Here is your budget deck of the week. It’s a lot more burn focused than the rare filled version because it loses out on a lot of the great rare creatures. It’s even more low to the ground and can definitely steal some games off of anyone who stumbles.
