MTG Arena will be undergoing maintenance starting April 2, 7 AM PT (14:00 UTC) and is expected to last about two hours to deploy the 1.06.01.00 game update! This correlates exactly to the time when Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths will be making its debut, along with the trailer launch at the official Magic: The Gathering Twitch channel and marks the start of the preview season. So far, we have been seeing some teaser pictures from social media to signify something big is coming…
A creature with four toes, on a tropical island? Hmm…
Magic personalities have also been receiving goodie bags containing a movie ticket to the viewing of Ikoria. All of this information combined, provides further credibility to the Ikoria leaks we’ve seen earlier.
MTG Arena has held special events for the past sets as well:
- For Theros Beyond Death, we had The Game Awards After Party event, where we got to play with two preconstructed decks that showcased some new Theros cards built around Elspeth and Ashiok, which also included some iconic cards such as Black Lotus and Ancestral Recall. Players earned up to three Theros packs ready to open upon release.
- For Throne of Eldraine, we got to play with the four new Brawl decks in the Eldraine Courtside Brawl event showcasing the new cards as well as a way to introduce the new format to MTG Arena. Players earned playsets of cards for use in the new Standard format.
We are excited to find out what we will be seeing in this new patch that is related to Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths!
